My clients recently bought a fixer-upper in highly desirable Montclair. They knew right away they wanted to renovate the kitchen and enlisted my help a few months ago. Construction finally started this summer. We opened up the cramped kitchen and dining rooms to create one big eat-in kitchen. The kitchen features white shaker cabinets, marble-look quartz countertops, a farmhouse sink, classic white subway tile, a custom walnut banquette and walnut floating shelves. Inspired by minimalist styles and cool cafes, we went with big feature walls of classic subway tile then warmed it up with some walnut woods and satin brass hardware and added white metal/brass down-light pendants. For an added bonus we converted a side room that formerly housed the refrigerator into a big walk-in pantry closet. On the night that it was done, my client texted "I can't believe this is my kitchen!!!" and that just makes me smile. Check out some of the before and after pics below.
